There are many myths which are very popular amongst the populations. The myths are easily spread throughout the world as scientific reasons are not known and are not much aware of the technology.?
Below some are the myths are explained which become very popular now a day:
· Myth1- Leaving your phone on the charger all night will overcharge your battery.?
· Myth2- Always use the official brand charger for your phone.
· Myth3- Charging habits to maximize battery life.
· Myth4- Never use your phone while it's charging.
· Myth5- Save battery power by killing apps or using an app killer.
These are the batteries which are used in various ways. Due to their constant voltage, they have found application in cars, bicycles, and solar devices. They are light in weight due to which they are easy to carry and store and have sufficient ability to produce a large amount of energy. Due to its various advantages, they are also used in electronic devices like laptops and mobile phones?
A recent improvement is done in the lithium battery, which allows the battery to be charged up to 100 times faster than the previous battery. These batteries are designed in such a way that they can store more energy and thus drive further. These batteries are generally different from other batteries because they maintain or capable of delivering a constant voltage and also has a comparatively higher charges cycle.?
They have low discharge capacity with low energy density. These batteries are considered as safe for home use because they do not heat up easily and relatively cooler than other battery.
Lithium-Ion Battery Life Expectancy:
The average life expectancy of the Lithium-ion battery is maybe around two or three years and can be more if the proper condition will provide. It can run up to five years when you have to give a good environment.?
There are many factors which are responsible for the expectancy of the lithium-ion battery:
· Operating Temperature.
· Charge Level, observed each time when you have charged.
· Charging Time.
· Type of Charger used w.r.t. Voltage.
· Discharge Cycle.
· Degradation.
· Power Density.
The battery works due to the movement of the free ion. The free ions move between the positive and negative Electrodes, which is mainly responsible for the lifespan of the battery. The lifetimes of lithium-ion batteries depend on some factors like temperature, charge and discharge current, charge, and discharge cut-off voltage.?
Under the standard conditions, and when discharge cycles are done from the fully charged condition than it is about to 80%DOD. Lithium battery has cycle life about 1200-1500 cycles, as against of 400-600 maximum for a lead-acid battery. By lowering the depth of discharge, the life cycles of the battery can be extended, and further increases by maintain the optimum temperature.?
These batteries are considered as safe for home or the commercial purpose use because they do not heat up easily and relatively cooler than other battery.
Lithium-Ion Battery Life And Death:
The certain factor which may affect the life length of the lithium-ion battery:
Depend upon the number of charge-discharge cycles. The cycles of the battery will depend upon the usage of the battery. If the battery is used only 30% to 70 percent, then it can usually withstand with 1000 cycles.??
If you store these batteries at room temperature for more than one year, then the recoverable capacity will drop to 80%.
Fast or high charge-discharge currents reduce life-length significantly of the battery.?
The high temperature that is around or above 35 ?C is considered the harmful temperature for the battery as it may reduce life length and destroy the battery before its time.?
High voltage- the high voltage reduces the life length of the battery. The battery life length can be significantly extended by using lower charge voltages.
When a battery is "dead," it doesn't mean that it has no capacity whatsoever. At low temperature that is at high temperature, the lithium-ion battery loses its capacity to do work. The battery at low temperature can not supply the amount of power or voltage needed. To store the battery in the cold will be a great way but are not the perfect way to get out the capacity from them.
The battery does not work in cold temperature; the reason behind this is that the ions, which does not produce a sufficient amount of voltage. The chemical reaction will not occur, and it can never be recharged again. The batteries lose their capacity permanently after leaving it for a long time at any temperature without any use.?
Lithium-Ion Battery Life Protection Guidelines:
To increase the lifespan of the battery, you have to follow some standard guidelines that are described below:
· The battery of the Smartphone can be degrading by continuous usage, which does not consider the app used by the users. You can increase the lifespan of your Smartphone battery by deleting all unnecessary applications.?
· Don't use the battery in an extremely hot or humid condition.
· Make sure that the vents caps are tightened up and at regular interval of time check the water level.
· They need to be equalized appropriately periodically.
· Allow your battery to cool off when it is fully charged.
· While frozen, it may harm your battery to be charged.
· Provide the optimum condition to the battery as proper temperature and other conditions. will be provided. Keep your battery at room temperature.
· Allow partial discharges and avoid full ones.
· Avoid completely discharge of the lithium-ion battery.
· For extended storage, discharge a lithium-ion battery to about 40-50 percent and can store it in a cool place.?
Some of the precautions also required during charging of the battery, which involves mainly:
1.You will need to cordon the area off to animals as well as the children.?
2.The car with its running engine, the battery is vulnerable to easy no sweat steal!
The connections will occur in properly manner; otherwise, it may shock you.?
