The battery can also be tested using a specialized electronic tester that suits the specified car battery. The tester sends waves frequency to the chemical layers of the battery and determines its condition on the signals returned, which can be measured. The tester’s results or output is then interpreted depending on the type or model you used. The data may be given in terms of graphs, charts, or numbers. If it is pointing to the lower end or number, it means that it is low. Battery tests are also done by opening the bonnet and checking the battery. In gel-type batteries, a change in color in its gauge indicator with integration signifies low battery performance. The interpretation of the colors is normally given on the battery.

What battery voltage is too low?
Many people, opinions, and articles differ on the specific number of voltages that should be considered low but are almost equal. When the engine is running, the number of volts should not be below 13.8. When the engine is not running, but the lights are turned on, the volts should be less than 12. When the battery is fully charged, the number of volts should read 12.6 or above and should not be less than 9 volts when the starter is running.
