Laptop battery: lock after long-term idleness, and the method of successfully unlocking the battery

Dec 14, 2018   Pageview:886

After research, (when the computer power cord is plugged in), I found that every time the battery is plugged into the system, the protection circuit does not start working within the first few seconds, and the charging voltage of the notebook in these few seconds. It can be directly loaded on the cell, so that the voltage of the cell rises by 0.01-0.02V. After a few seconds, the battery begins to issue commands to the notebook charging circuit, stop charging, or lock the battery. Then, repeat this battery for a few seconds just inserted into the system, can the battery voltage slowly return to normal?

I started experimenting

For this SONYVAIOT17C notebook, the system battery is 7.2V/7200mA, the time interval between when the battery is plugged into the computer and the battery protection circuit starts working is about 6 seconds, so I plug in the battery for 6 seconds at 6 second intervals. Unplug the battery and plug it in for 6 seconds, repeating it. At the same time, the battery voltage status is monitored in real time through the battery monitor. After unremitting efforts, the voltage gradually increased from 5.32V to 5.93V. When the voltage reaches 5.93V, the charging circuit is automatically unlocked and the system battery begins to charge the battery effectively. The battery saved successfully! After the test, the battery fully reached the capacity level before the discharge, the heat is stable, and the charging has no abnormal sound.

The test was successful.

to sum up:

1. This method is suitable for a lithium ion battery that fails due to over discharge caused by a long time .

2. The prerequisite for using this method to save the battery is that the basic information of the battery (such as manufacturer, chemical medium, serial number, etc.) can still be seen in the battery monitor. If the battery information is lost due to long-term over-discharge, the possibility of recovery is extremely high.

3. Before saving, insert the battery into the system, the system can enter the state of charging the battery.

4. The battery saved by this method should not be deeply discharged in the future.
