First charge of nickel metal hydride battery

Nickel-hydrogen battery of a charge after shipment comprises two aspects: First, the reused either first charge, the charging time is two suitable.

Under normal circumstances, the new nickel-hydrogen battery contains only a small amount of electricity, which is closely related to the higher self-discharge rate of the nickel-hydrogen battery. If the nickel-hydrogen battery is 40% charged at the factory, the self-discharge rate is as high as that in the month. In 30% of cases, the power after January is only 10%. For a longer period of time, some batteries will be in a discharged state (ie, there is no charging state). Moreover, Ni-MH batteries have another characteristic, that is, the capacity is higher. High, the self-discharge rate is also larger, so that even if the battery is larger at the factory, the power after a certain period of time is still small. Therefore, the new battery must be charged for the first time before use.

However, in another case, it can be used first. In 2005, low-self-discharge nickel-hydrogen batteries were introduced to the market. At present, some manufacturers also produce low-self-discharge batteries. However, due to the complicated structure of the low self-discharge nickel-hydrogen battery, the cost is much higher than that of the conventional type, and thus the proportion of the low self-discharge nickel-hydrogen battery in the civilian market is small. If the battery of the authentic brand is short-lived (such as within one month), it is usually enough to charge the battery. If the charged battery charge is more than 30%, the nickel-metal hydride battery will be charged for the first time.

Once the NiMH battery is charged, it is necessary to choose how to charge it. It is generally believed that the nickel-hydrogen battery before the first charge is very small, so it should be a small current constant current charging method, most of which are charged at a rate of 0.1 C for 12 to 14 hours.
