Since the progress of time you may have seen so many changes occurring throughout the history, so many ground breaking inventions, from the invention of the wheel to the invention of the latest android phones. These are the sort of technologies that we as humans have been creating and with every century you may notice that humans have been advancing at an exponential rate, from the use of simple computers such as the abacus to the invention of the micro chip computers today. These are all some of the great inventions that we as human beings have created for the ease of life for us humans, the reason for that need to improve is basically our imagination. We are always curious about the things that intrigue us and then we ponder on those things. One such great invention was the invention of the batteries. The reason why these batteries are really awesome is that they are devices which are able to store electrical charges, they are known as batteries. These are the sort of devices that you will find in your daily life almost everywhere. The reason why they are so common is that there are many devices around us that are run on electricity. The amazing thing about these batteries is that how simply they are made.

If you were to look at them from the outside, you might think that it is just an ordinary piece of plastic box, but it’s not. The components of the battery include s3 essentials. The first is the cathode and the second is known as the anodes, these are the two types of electrodes that you may find in any battery. The third essential component might be something known as the electrolyte, we will explain all these three components. The lithium ion battery when taken as an example we will notice that the cathode is made from a lithium oxide material, the anode on the other hand is made from the carbon stuff. The electrolyte is basically a solution of organic solvent which has some sort of lithium ions dissolved in it. The working of the battery is simple in that the electrons flow out from the cathode and they are accepted by the anode. There is a barrier between the two electrodes which is usually a salt bridge, this helps to ensure that the charges are separated and there is a little diffusion between the two. The charges then come off from the cathode in the form of lithium ions and they create the potential difference, the next thing that happens is that these electrons in the form of ions are able to basically provide charge to the device that is connected as an appliance. This is how the battery functions and the reason why it has special importance in our daily lives.

Can you charge 3 12 volt batteries in series?

The best thing about having to charge a battery is that it is quite simple. To answer that question you must first understand that how a battery gets discharged or recharged. The battery when is being used the charges that are present with the battery will be able to out flow outside the battery to an electrical appliance, the charges that came out of the battery were depleted from the battery. This is known as the discharge cycle in which the charges of the battery get depleted until the potential difference across the positive and negative terminal of the battery is zero. The recharge cycle is basically the reverse of the discharge cycle in which instead of the charges going out of the battery they are re entering it. The charges that are coming from the rechargers are of greater potential difference as a result of which the battery is recharged. This causes the process of electrolysis in the electrolyte to reinitiate and therefore increase the pool of ions once again for the purposes of creating a potential difference. This is how you will be able to recharge you battery.

There are two ways to recharge you battery the first is the series method and the second is the parallel method of arrangement. Of the two methods the series method is more proffered and yes you can charge the arteries in that method. The only thing that you need to do is that you take those 3 12 volt batteries. Then you use the wires to attach the batteries by placing them with each other. When you are using a series arrangement try to make sure that the terminals are correctly attached. The primary thing that you need to do is that connect the positive terminal of one battery to the positive terminal of the second battery and then the same thing with the third battery. The same thing needs to be done in the case of the negative terminal so now when you do this the batteries will act collectively in the form of one single battery. Then you will connect the terminals of the battery to the charger, but when you are connecting make sure that the charger has a greater potential difference than all of the batteries combined together. Since there are 3 twelve volt batteries, the collective sum of the battery’s voltage will be 36 volt. Therefore make sure that the battery charger that you will be using has a potential difference of at least 100 volts or 80 volts. The reason for that is even to volt minimum required is 36 volts technically, in practicality terms it would take just too long to charge.

Is it better to use series or parallel arrangement?

There are pros and cons of both methods. The series method is preferred because it will take lesser time to charge the battery on the other hand the parallel method will take more time. However if you are not careful in the series method you may overheat one of you batteries and then as a result damage it. Keeping all the points together you will realize that series method is better.

How to charge multiple 12 volts battery in line?

It is quite easy to charge batteries in series method all you have to do is basically just connect the negative terminals of each battery and the positive terminals of each battery with each other and then you will be able to charge them
