How to tell if a rechargeable battery charger is bad?

Here we give you several steps to make sure if the rechargeable battery charger is bad. Evaluating your battery charger is a simple process.

Step 1:

Connect your charger to a source of electricity. Remove any batteries that are being charged in the unit.

Step 2:

Turn on your voltmeter. Make sure there is the power to the unit. Connect the test probes to the voltmeter, according to its instructions. Set the selector switch to the highest volt DC level or whatever is recommended in the voltmeter instructions.

Step 3:

Take a battery or battery pack that is compatible with your charger. Make sure there is no corrosion on the batteries and that they are not leaking liquid. Touch the positive end of the battery with the red probe. Take the black probe and place it on the negative side of the battery.

Step 4:

Check the reading on the voltmeter and note the position of the pointer. If it is on the left side, or negative, change the probes. If it is on the right side, it will indicate that the battery is receiving a charge. The position on the voltmeter will determine the amount of charge received.

Step 5:

Check the battery charger to see how much power it is producing if you continue to receive negative readings from the batteries. A negative reading indicates that the charger is not working properly and you should replace it. If the charger has sufficient power flow, the batteries are more likely to be bad and simply not holding the charge.

Do battery chargers go bad?

But you will not always get maximum speed. Since most brands implement their fast charging solution, there is usually no choice but to buy a new charger for the exact phone model in case you have lost it.

If you notice that the charge is slow, the first thing you should discard is the charger: if it is not the mobile one, find yours. If you have not changed, you will have to rule out the rest of the following problems before buying a new charger. As long as you want fast charging, which may not compensate you.

The batteries are too hot:

Fast charging technologies implement safety systems that verify the temperature of the components involved in the process at all times. So, when the battery heats up excessively (usually because you use it while charging), it is common for the system to reduce the charging power to minimize overheating.

Try not to touch the battery so that it recovers the temperature. Another good idea is to turn it off and let it charge without the system is on. And if the temperature is too high (the mobile is annoying to hold because it is very hot) we recommend that you remove the charging cable, turn off the phone completely, and do not turn it on again until it cools down.

The plug is bad:
