My Battery Won't Charge-Causes and Solutions

The battery is an important part of any electronic gadget smarts phones car. 

Your battery sometimes stops charging because of different reasons:

Sometimes the alternator of your car charges its battery as the engine is in running condition and this condition, your car may stop charging. A faulty alternator or a faulty voltage regulator can damage the current distribution between alternator and battery.

There can be wiring problems like the vibration of the engine can loosen up the battery connections. It can remove the electrical contact between the battery and the alternator. 

If you keep the headlight on for a longer period of time, your battery doesn’t charge. 

There can be a bad alternator and the alternator can be damaged if you keep the light on and dimmed headlight can be the reason. 

If the alternator is damaged, your battery will lose its charge very quickly 

There can be the voltage regulator issue also 

If there is a damaged cable of the battery it can harm the electrical connection between the battery and alternator 

There can be another type of wiring problem like the ungrounded neutral that may cause an electrical issue in your charging system. 

A flat battery can be the reason also. 

New cars come with different accessories like Bluetooth kits, interior lighting etc. If you don’t power down it correctly, it can drain the power very fast. Some of the accessories need to have a live power connection or it may cause battery failure. 

The acid battery usually lasts for 3 to four years, if the battery is too much old, it may bloat, the acid may leak, cracks occur etc. On the battery terminal, extensive corrosion can damage and reduces electrical connectivity and charging ability of it. Sulfation can cause battery damage also because it damages the battery cell. Sulfation is common in lead batteries.

Power Drain 

Power draining of the battery can be a reason. Some car accessories like Bluetooth kits and interior lighting may shut down if the engine of the car is off. It can drain out the battery also. For some components, a live connection is important. 

If the battery of the car is damaged or too old, it may stop taking charge

Solution 

If your car battery is not taking charge, you should hire an ASE-certified mechanic or an expert to solve the issue. Use the best quality parts and also the right tools for the purpose. 

My Battery Won't Charge on My Laptop

There can be some issues like software malfunction, power cord issue or bad battery health. If your battery doesn’t charge on your laptop find out the issue first with the help of an expert. Check if the USB is in the right condition. 

You can use a standard charger if you are looking for a proper charger. But if you want to charge with a USB port, it can cause issues. 

Check if the charging indicator is not on and no indicator is showing in the display that the USB cable is connected or not. In that case, you need to re-insert the USB or data cable first. You can replace the one with a new one. 

If the phone battery is connected to the laptop, you need to connect the USB port to another USB port and if it is working there. 

If the phone is connected to the laptop, you need to use the USB port of your laptop for charging. Don’t use the USB extension cable. It may lack the proper power supply from the USB port. 

Check whether the data cable is right for your phone or it supports the laptop. Some phone requires a specific app to be downloaded before charging. In that case, you need to download the app first before putting your phone for charging. 

 Why won't my battery charge?

If your battery doesn’t charge, the car will never start. The reason is that there will be less power supply to run a car or for the ignition system and spark plug. 

If the phone is not charging, there can be so many reasons. You need to check first the cable especially if the cables did not come with the phone. Our phone cable faces a lot of bad use like throwing bags here and there, cable tangled up etc. 

First, you need to check the charging cable properly and thoroughly. Check if there is any sign of damage. Any type of cut bends, usual damage can be the reason that the cable is not functioning properly and so the phone is not charging. You can try and check if another device is properly working with the cable, you can also use another USB cable to check if the phone is charging. The adapter or the wall charger is an equally important place to check. Bent outlets and cracks can be a big reason. You can try to change the cable and can use a different device to know if it is working.

If the charging port is damaged or if there is an electric issue, your phone will not take charging.  If there is any debris or clouds of dust try to clean it properly. Buy the right charger and adapter that match your device properly. 

Why do I do this if my phone charger is plugged in but not charging?

If you have plugged in your phone and it is not charging, the reason can be a faulty charger, a bad cable or a damaged adapter. 

Debris and dirt in your charging port can create a big issue for you 

Even there can be a third-party application that interrupts the entire process of charging
