• Get used to what your manufacturer has specified by looking into the users’ manual. Sounds funny, right? But it isn’t!
  

• Take out the two terminal cables – use a 7/16” & 10mm wrench or socket to get rid of the cables. It is safer to remove the negative terminals first.
  

• Take out the nut and remove the cable from the battery. Return the nut to the bolt.
  

• The positive terminal is always covered by a red protective cap. You need to get it off.
  

• Take out the nut and remove the cable. Nut should be returned to the bolt.
  

• Remove the item that holds the battery down by pressing the battery downward.
  

• Pull the battery in an upward direction, and it is going to come off easily.
  

• At this point you can successfully insert the new battery after bringing the old one out.

Can you jump start a Cub Cadet?

The simple answer is yes! But wait a minute, not so fast! There are a couple of very important information that you need to have if you are going to do this successfully. Let me make this very clear, if you don’t jump start your cub cadet properly, you could end up damaging the charging system inside the battery. That means, the battery will not be able to charge again.

It is also important that you put on all your protective gears like goggle and hand gloves when doing this because the battery contains acid, and anything can just happen. Jump starting your cub cadet is allowed if it is rated 12V. You can do it once in a while and that will be fine.

But if you have a 6V battery, jump starting it may not be such a good idea. Use a battery charger instead. For clearer instructions, you can go through your battery manual to get more information.

To get started, you need an automobile to do this. Don’t charge a mower with another mower.

• Turn off the engine of the mower and engage the break

• Drive the automobile to where the mower is parked and turn it off as well.
  

• Open up where the battery is on both vehicles
  

• Connect the jumper wire to the positive terminal of the mower and to the other car. (make sure this cable touches nothing else other than the positive terminal on the vehicle)
  

• Connect the black jumper cable to the automobile with good battery before connecting to the lower frame on the mower away from the tank.
  

Start the ignition on the mower, and that should be all.
