A multimeter is a device used for measuring the current, voltage, and resistance of a circuit. You can use this device to check the health of the battery more accurately. With other methods, you were just checking the charging capacity and discharging time, but with a multimeter, you will be checking the amount of voltage your battery is conducting. 

Test phone battery with a multimeter.

To get a more accurate reading of the voltage your battery is receiving and storing to provide your phone energy to perform different functions. A multimeter can help you to test your phone battery if you follow the steps shared below. 

Turn your phone off.

First of all, turn off your phone to disconnect the supply of voltage of the battery to your phone. 

Remove the battery.

Then remove the battery of your phone by opening the out case of the phone. Do it safely by avoiding any damage to your phone. 

Adjust the multimeter on the DC Volt setting. 

Now, bring the multimeter to a table and set it vertically on it. It is time to set how much voltage you want to measure through it and what type of current flow you will be observing. It is better to adjust the multimeter on the DC volt setting.

Attach multimeter probes with battery terminals. 

Now, connect the probes with battery terminals like adding a black colored probe with the negative terminal of the battery and a red probe with the positive terminal of the battery. Sometimes, when terminals of the battery are not mentioned, you can consider these terminals positive and negative and attach the probes by just supposing the terminals. 

Note and observe the readings. 

Now, you will see positive or negative deflection on the multimeter. Note down the readings of a multimeter. If it is below 1, then you need to change the battery as it is not working well to operate your phone.
