Product Design
Q: What types of lithium batteries can you customize?
A: We support the customization of lithium batteries across multiple chemistries and form factors, including:
Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries
- Lithiumiron phosphate (LiFeP04) batteries
- Lithium polymer (Li-Po) batteries
- Cylindrical cellsand modules (18650,21700,etc.)
- Low-temperature,high-temperature, and wide-temperature batteries
- Special-performance batteries: explosion -proof, waterproof, shock-resistant, high-rate discharge, etc
- Complete packelevel customization, including matched BMs, mechanical parts, communication protocols, and system integration
- Our solutions are widely used in medical devices, robotics, security systems, industrial control, power inspection, and outdoor equipment.
Q: What parameters are required for custom lithium battery development?
A: The following basic information is typically required:
·Operating voltage range
·Continuous and peak discharge current
·Battery capacity
·Physical dimensions / mechanical constraints
·Charging current
·Operating temperature range
If there are communication protocols, certification requirements, or special environmental conditions, please provide those details as well.
Q: What does lithium battery customization include?
A: Customization may cover electrical performance, mechanical structure, thermal management, BMS control system, communication protocols, protection level (IP rating), and certification requirements.
We can tailor battery shape, voltage platform, discharge rate, and environmental adaptability based on your application.
Q: Are samples provided free of charge?
A: Samples are chargeable. However, the sample cost may be refunded after reaching a certain order quantity.
Q: What certifications can you support?
A: As lithium batteries are custom-designed products, certifications are applied on a project-by-project basis.
Commonly supported certifications include CE, CB, UL, UN38.3, RoHS, REACH, FCC, and others as required.
Q: Do custom lithium batteries require ''activation''?
A: No. Modern lithium batteries are fully activated before shipment and can be used directly following standard charging procedures.
Q: Can custom lithium batteries be used in extreme environments?
A: Yes. In addition to standard temperature models, we offer:
·Ultra-low-temperature batteries (≥85% capacity retention at -40°C, 0.2C discharge)
·High-temperature batteries (operable above 65°C)
·Waterproof, dustproof, explosion-proof, and shock-resistant designs
·High-protection BMS, including temperature monitoring, balancing, and intelligent communication
Q: What is the typical operating temperature range of lithium batteries?
A: Standard lithium batteries typically operate between -20°C and 60°C.
Based on industry requirements, LARGE can develop wide-temperature batteries, such as:
·Low-temperature models: stable discharge at -40°C to -55°C
·High-temperature models: operable at above 65°C
These solutions are suitable for extreme cold, outdoor, and high-temperature industrial environments.
Quality& Production
- Standard designs: 15-20 days
- Fullycustomized designs:25-45 days.
- The actual lead time may vary depending on project complexity.
- Li-Po batteries≤1500mAh:5,000 pcs
- Li-Po batteries ﹥1500mAh: 3,000 pcs
- Cylindrical lithium battery packs: ≥500 packs
LARGE ensures battery safety and reliability through a comprehensive quality management system and international certifications:
- Full-process quality control: 10c/lP0c/00c/100% inspection before shipment
- Multi-layer protection at both cell and PACK levels
- International certification support: UN38.3, CE, CB, UL, ROHS, REACH, etc.
- Environmental & safety testing: high/low temperature, vibration, drop, cycle life, nail penetration.and more
- Full production traceability, meetingindustrial-grade and medical-grade application requirements
We use custom-grade cells combined with our in-house BMS, providing
- Overcharge and over-discharge protection.
- Overcurrent and short-circuit protection.
- Temperature monitoringand thermal management
- lmpact-resistant andanti-puncture structural design
- Validation through multiple extreme safety tests (nail penetration, crush,high/low temperature, etc.)
Cycle life refers to the number of charge-discharge cycles completed before the battery capacity decreases to 80% of its initial value.
To extend cycle life:
- Avoid overcharging and over-discharging
- Avoid high-temperature environments
- Perform periodic maintenance
- Use a properly matched BMS and charger
- Store in a cool,dryenvironment
- Maintain 30%-60% state ofcharge (SOC)
- Avoid long-term storage at full charge or fully discharged state
- Perform chargeñdischarge maintenance every3 months
Payment Questions
Q: Who bears the cost of samples and tooling (mold) development?
A: Sample and tooling costs are usually bore bythe customer. Once the order quantityreaches the agreed level, these costs can be deductedfrom the total order value.
Q: Who is responsible for certification costs?
A: Certification costs are project-specific for custom battery products and are generally covered by the customer. LARGE will fully support the certification process and provide all required technical documentation and test samples.
Q: Are custom batteries more expensive than standard batteries?
A: Custom batteries may involve higher initial development and testing costs. However, they enable optimized performance, better space utilization, and improved system integration. For mass production projects, custom solutions often deliver lower overall project cost and higher long-term value.
